Mets Dazed by Malaise: Bonilla, Johnson on DL
NEW YORK Outfielder Bobby Bonilla and Howard Johnson were placedon the 15-day disabled list Sunday, making it one of the worst daysin New York Mets' medical history.
Bonilla fractured a rib diving for a foul ball off the bat ofthe Cubs' Andre Dawson in the first inning. Johnson fractured hisright wrist sliding into second base last Tuesday night inPhiladelphia, but did not realize a bone had cracked.
Before Sunday's game, the Mets said pitcher Bret Saberhagen willmiss at least one start after re-injuring his right index fingerSaturday.
